A Very Angry Pastor

Pastor Vickie reports that her time away in prayer has been very fulfilling. She and her husband, Mark, are headed to Wesley Woods in Williams Bay, Wisconsin to join 20+ members of our congregation (and family/friends) for the annual Church Camp weekend. During her absence, Lowell Allen will be available for pastoral support and JOIN IN SUNDAY WORSHIP for his sermon ...

This Sunday's Sermon: A very angry pastor!! (Galatians 5:1-12). Come and invite your friends to join you! Pastor Lowell preaching.

There WILL BE Sunday morning bible study this week. The group will continue with the book of Galatians - see attached study guide. They meet at 8:45 a.m. Sundays in the third floor chapel on the Grace St. side. Contact David Foster for more information.

MISSION NEWS:
Thanks to all who supported our June Mission: Reconciling Ministries Network - and to Rev. Carl Davis who joined us in worship last week.

June 26 – Annual Hunger Walk.
Make sure you put Irving Park Community Food Pantry as the beneficiary of your donations. http://www.chicagosfoodbank.org

APRIL MISSION EXTENSION - Just a reminder, that IPUMC will be participating in a "hands-on" activity on July 18 at the United Church of Rogers Park Community Feast. We will have an opportunity to help in the food preparation and set-up and/or the serving of the meal and clean-up. A sign-up sheet, with specific volunteer times, will be available at worship the next three Sundays. Please consider joining us, as we reach out to others in need. Please see Tina or Wally Felckowski for more information. Thank you!

The gay pride parade is this weekend. To help people continue the discussions that generally follow this major event, a special program is being offered on Tuesday, June 29, at 7:30 in our church. Called "A Post Parade Candid Conversation for LGBTQA People of Faith" and their friends. A flyer about this event at our church is attached.

Remember, next Sunday, July 4, we welcome Michelle Stephens - our New Children & Youth Minister.
Join us in welcoming her during the worship service and at the reception to follow.

Building restoration update: If you are at the church you'll see that the scaffolding has been removed from the Grace Street side. It is now on the north wall. According to Kent Keutzer, head of our trustees, "We are virtually wrapped up the south side east and west gables and the focus is now on the north wall roof." More updates will be provided but we wanted you to know things are progressing well ... and on schedule as much as possible given all of the rain!

Please keep all those who have suffered loss or illness, lack of work, heartbreak or other life challenges in your prayers. Also raise up your joys! If you are interested in being part of our Prayer Network, or would like to have them pray for a special person or cause, contact Tina or Wally Felckowski: bwf79@sbcglobal.net
