Please see her upcoming sermon schedule later in this message.
Scripture readings this Sunday: Psalm 8 Romans 5:1-11
We thank our youth (newest members, Jackie, Ruby, Alejandra, Abraham and Daniela) for conducting our Pentecost Sunday service. Thanks to John and Kate who came from the Irving Park Community Food Pantry to share the story of this important mission work. If you want to make a donation to this, our May Mission, please make sure you indicate the donation in the notes section of your check. There is information available at the church if you want to take part in or sponsor someone in the Hunger Walk in June. Thanks also to Molly Melick, our church representative on the pantry board of directors and for all who support this mission started over 25 years ago by a member of our church.
Thanks again to Stephanie Escher for her time with us. During her farewell fellowship after church last Sunday, Stephanie shared great news – she will be the incoming part-time Pastor at Pastor Vickie’s former church in Oak Park! Small world. Information about a future director of music will be provided soon.

Important news from Church Council
We approved a new church identity and logo at the meeting. Thanks to the Communication Team for all of their work over the past couple of years as we have progressed to this important point. You will start seeing it in use on materials soon (including the attached June ad for OIPA newsletter). The Council also approved the hiring of a part-time director of education who will focus on Sprouts, youth education and activities. Details on this director will follow. This is an exciting step in the growth of our church!
Restoration is underway. Daily working hours will be from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of June (weather permitting) on Phase II of this major restoration project. See photo attached. Come see it for yourself when you have time.
The garden looks great. Thanks continue to Karen Prather and her “helping hands” for the work being done in our church garden. It shows!
