32 inches of Christmas snow, wind chills plunging under -20, then storm after storm after paralyzing storm hitting down. Without knowledge from the media or help from their government, over 1000 people are trapped without power and are in dire need of food, water, and propane for heat. It became a life/death situation in a matter of moments. And now, over a month later these people—our fellow Americans—are just being found out about.

Seeking closet musicians!
Our minister of music, Stephanie, is seeking closet musicians to share their musical gifts with the Irving Park UMC community during worship. Easter is coming up. We’d love to pull together some brass! And we want to bring in some special music during worship. She’s willing to help find music or other musicians to play with. Please contact her today! There will be a delicious meal, fun, and activities for all ages. $10 donation – free if you bring Haiti health kit items (hand towels, combs, nail clippers, bath soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, plastic strip bandages, sealable 1-gallon plastic bags). Lent begins Ash Wednesday, February 17th. We will have an Imposition of the Ashes service at 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary.
