Next week:
February 16, Fat Tuesday Celebration, 6:30 p.m. to kickoff Lent. There will be a delicious meal, fun, and activities for all ages. $10 donation – free if you bring Haiti health kit items (hand towels, combs, nail clippers, bath soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, plastic strip bandages, sealable 1-gallon plastic bags). Please RSVP so we can get an idea of how many people to cook for. Call the church office (773) 283-6262. See information on Haiti at end of this message.
Lent begins Ash Wednesday, February 17th. We will have an Imposition of the Ashes service at 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary.

Mission presentation on God’s work being done in China. If you want to know more about the work he and Lori Ann are doing, please talk with Lowell Allen. Thanks to Paul for his time to comes and share their story with us and for the amazing work they are doing for people desperately in need of education, hope and a way out of poverty. Their daughter, Hope, will be born soon and the family of three will return to help the Sani People. More information will be available in the Bacmeister Room.

You will be amazed at the daily information on the work being done in Haiti and other places around the world. It will make you proud to be a United Methodist!

Health Kits for Haiti
Health Kits for Haiti
Collecting supplies until mid February. Call the church office with questions: 773-283-6262
The requested items (IN BULK form not kits) are:
one-gallon sealed plastic bags
hand towels (not kitchen towels)
washcloths
large combs
fingernail clippers
bath-size soap
toothbrushes (individually wrapped)
plastic strip sterile bandages
All supplies will be delivered to UMCOR - United Methodist Committee on Relief. For more information, see: http://new.gbgm-umc.org/Umcor/
Checks/money donations may be made out to Irving Park United Methodist Church with "Haiti Relief" marked in the memo line. The church will send a check to UMCOR.
