Christ the King Sunday, Nov. 22

Sunday, Nov. 22, Christ the King Sunday

All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name

Prayers: James, the grandfather of our student pastor, Emily Slavicek, passed away Thursday night, following an aneurism. He was surrounded by his loving family. Emily is with her family in Michigan and services will be held this weekend. Please keep them all in your prayers. Prayers continue for Pastor Vickie and her family as her stepfather, Tom Nagle, remains seriously ill. Pastor Cecilia who has been in Florida with her mother, Maria de los Angeles Pereda, who has had another stroke. Janet Spencer and her husband, Herman, are grieving the loss of their dog, Fritz, this past week. Prayers for all who are ill, grieving loss of loved ones, for those in need as well as those who are weary from caring for those in need.

The Thanksgiving distribution for the Irving Park Community Food Pantry served 21% more clients than last year at this same time. The distribution was this past Wednesday and the rough estimate was 430 family units served compared to 356 last year. Thanks to all who made donations and helped with this important outreach. If you want to help with the Christmas food and toy drives for the pantry or Hands to Help ministries there is information available at the church and attached to this email.
