All Saints Sunday

Remembering the Saints

This Sunday is All Saints Day in the United Methodist Church. This is a time when we remember loved ones who died this past year. We celebrate their lives, their love and their inspiration in our lives and the lives of many.

This past week two more saints joined the many others we lift up.
Ellen Star’s mother, Edith Waytula, passed away on Wednesday, October 28 in the early evening. We send prayers and support to Ellen and her father, Edward, her older brother Eddy and his wife Maria, her younger brother Joe and wife Cindy as well as the grandchildren. Ellen is our lay leader. She hasn’t been in church recently because she has been caring fulltime for her parents. A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.
Anna Certa’s brother-in-law, Ron Smith, also passed away on Wednesday. Services were yesterday in Indiana.

Prayers also extended to:
The brother of Anna Certa, Bobby (Eugene) Kitchen, is very ill. We send special prayers of comfort to Anna, Frank and their family during this very difficult time.
Lowell Allen and his granddaughters who are having troubled pregnancies.
Stacey Blaha’s aunt and Kent Keutzer’s sister who both are battling breast cancer.
Pastor Cecilia’s mother who remains very ill.

For All Saints Sunday we will remember:
Clayton Mylander – March 2, 2009; brother of Gerald Mylander
Moises Flores – April 4, 2009; brother of Joe Flores, Sr.
Veronica Orzechowski – May 1, 2009; mother-in-law of Kathy Verschoor
Kelly McCoy – September 16, 2009; sister of Kent Keutzer
Miriam Johnson – September 28, 2009; mother of Sina Kraneis
Donald Parks – October 19, 2009; cousin of Lowell Allen

Feel like cooking?
We are looking for people who want to prepare meals for our church family members who are new parents, are caring for elderly parents, are elderly or are ill. We’d also love to have a volunteer who is willing to organize this outreach service to our members. Please let the church office know if you feel like cooking and/or organizing the meals!
