Easter Festival of the Resurrection Worship
--------------------------------
Last Sunday Pastor Adam spoke to Roots and the Passion. He shared scripture readings: Psalm 51:1-12 and John 12:20-33
“We are seeds. Each of us are on some part of this process of breaking down the outer shell, planting our roots, and pushing forth the flowers which multiply life. At times the process seems beautiful, at times it seems constraining, at times we easily move from one step to the next, at times we struggle to find our way or even are forced to start over again, but through it all we hear this rule: stay in love with God.”
Thanks to all who have made donations and helped us over the past three weeks as we have prepared more than 200 Easter bags for the children served by the Irving Park Community Food Pantry. This will be our last week to make bags and final distribution is Wednesday, April 8. If you want to help come after church this Sunday in the fellowship hall (11:30 – 1 p.m.). Contact Vicci if you want to help or have questions; 773-316-9754 or vicci@therodgersgroup.com.
The Pantry is our April Mission. We welcomed Nora and Jim Byrne in worship last Sunday and heard a testimony to the work of the pantry during their experience and dedication over the past 25 years. Gerry Sikora explained that our goals are to: Raise $500 in cash or gift cards and collect 600 food items. Donations of gift cards or cash will be collected on Sunday morning during the offering time. Food or non-food items can be dropped off on Sunday morning at the display table outside the sanctuary on the Keeler entrance or throughout the week at the church office during normal operating hours—Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Non-perishable food items they are always in need of include: boxed meals, canned meat, cereal and soup. Non-food items include soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, disposable diapers and other toiletries.
Sunday Worship: 10 a.m. followed by fellowship time. Nursery available for infants and toddlers.
