The Season of Lent Has Begun
When intentionally practiced, "Lent offers a gift of time and a promise of closeness.
It gives us time to see our current state of affairs in complete honesty.
It gives us time to compare this present snapshot with an image of where we
would like to be, a place we feel God wants us to find.”
- Sarah Parsons
Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.”
May this be your experience this Lenten season ... Pastor Vickie
With Ash Wednesday comes the beginning of Lent. Our church has been transformed by the beautiful craftsmanship of Ellen Star. Thank you Ellen for the many hours you put into the images that we will enjoy over Lent. The banners speak to the Three Simple Rules for Christian Living:
• Do No Harm
• Do Good
• Stay in Love with God
To find out why these rules are so important for Christians, and how you can practice them, join one of the five small groups being offered over the next four weeks: Mon., 6:30 p.m.; Tues., 1 p.m.; Wed., 8 p.m.; Thurs., 7 p.m. or Sun. 8:45 a.m. Each small group will study from Three Simple Rules: A Wesleyan Way of Living, by Rueben Job. Pass the word to others who may be interested. Contact the church office for information on how to register and to purchase a copy of the book for $5.
Also check out our new bulletin board outside of the Church office where we will trace our journey to Easter Sunday through pictures and stories. Weekly sermons are posted on this web site under Sermon Archives.
Worship: Sundays at 10 a.m. followed by fellowship time. Nursery available for infants and toddlers.
