Upcoming Activities

Host Families Needed
We heard from our Nevada Iowa UMC family and it looks like they will have 12 youth and 8 adults coming to Chicago April 11-13. Instead of having them sleep in the church, we are hoping to offer lodging (or at least showers) in some of our church family homes on Friday and Saturday nights. We want to welcome them with a pizza party (or the like) on Friday night. Saturday they are going downtown to see the sites. Sunday they will join us in church before they head home. If you can provide housing or help with the Friday night welcome, please let Vicci Rodgers Keutzer know asap. vicci@therodgersgroup.com.

Easter Bags
Thanks to all who made donations and helped last Sunday when we filled approximately 250 bags with Easter goodies. The children served by the Irving Park Food Pantry are thrilled with these special treats at this time of year. If you have more donations, please bring them to church on Sunday. We’ll be giving out bags during the next two Wednesday morning pantry distributions (9-12). We also can use help on Wednesday mornings. Contact Vicci about this outreach.

*Thursdays during Lent (through 3/13): 7:00 p.m., informal Prayer/Meditation gathering followed by Adult Study “Radical Renovation: Living the Cross-Shaped Life” by J.A. Harnish.

*Wed., March 12 at 7 pm, Mission & Ministry Team meeting.

*Sat., March 15th: Potato Bash Dinner (with all the trimmings) for everyone . . .
from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with activities prior to meal al 5 p.m. Join us!

Holy Week
To experience the deep joy of resurrection walk with Jesus through Holy Week

Palm Sunday, March 15, the Palm Crowds, 10:00 a.m.

Maundy Thursday, March 20, Service at 7:00 p.m., gathering in the Upper Room
for Holy Communion and reflection.

Good Friday, March 21, 7:00 p.m., The Seven Last Words of Jesus, a combined
Service with Mision Hispana & Irving Park Baptist Church, here.

Easter Morning, March 23, 10:00 a.m. Join us as we celebrate the Resurrection
of Jesus!
