Community Outreach

Irving Park UMC has a long history of ministry in the Irving Park community, Chicago and around the world.

Irving Park Community Food Pantry was started in the mid-80’s and continues to be housed in our building, serving over 400 families (1300 persons) per month. Find out more at www.irvingparkfoodpantry.com.

Weekly distribution on Wednesday mornings (9-12) for eligible persons in the 60641 area code.

The Irving Park Food Pantry was started 25 years ago when IPUMC member, Leila Duncan used public transportation to get food to those in need.

The Martha Group (an organization of Alcoholic Anonymous) offers meetings every day of the week, providing recovery support for men and women from all over the city. Call 312- 346-1475.

Weight Watchers meets every Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. in our fellowship hall. Registration and weigh-in begins one half hour before the times listed above.

In addition, the Irving Park United Methodist Church supports the world wide and national mission of the United Methodist Church through its apportionment giving each month. We look forward to continuing to make a difference here in Old Irving Park, Chicago and beyond.

Special distributions at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas are made even more special for the children served by the pantry. The youth of IPUMC started creating Easter baskets and bags and now they are joined by other neighborhood children to keep this tradition alive.
