First and foremost: Welcome! Here are a few “who, what, where” details about IPUMC.
Who: Parents, families and children; single, married and any stage of lifers; straight and LGBT; black, white, all the colors of the rainbow; local friends and far-off neighbors; seekers, newcomers, long-time Christians ... and you!
What: A relaxed, personal and communual experience rich in traditional Biblical teachings, and relative to our current lives. You are welcome in your Sunday best or casual jean wear, and by all means, bring your water and coffee mug with you.
Where: Our church is located on the corner of Grace and Keeler in the Old Irving Park neighborhood on Chicago's northwest side. We’re just two blocks from the Irving Park blue line stop and the Irving Park exit of 90/94. During the week, most people enter the church through our Grace Street entrance; this is a one way street that connects from Pulaski to the east. Through this door you can easily reach our offices, meeting locations and fellowship hall. Both the Grace and Keeler entrances are open on Sundays.
When: Services begin at 10 a.m. on Sundays, with holy communion weekly. During worship, children ages 4 - 11 can attend Sprouts (Sunday School), and nursery services are provided for infants and toddlers. Fellowship with food, friends and neighbors follows each service.
Adult bible study is offered Sunday mornings at 8:45 a.m. A variety of small groups meet throughout the month, and we share our space with a wide variety of community service groups, including the Irving Park Community Food Pantry, the Irving Park Historical Society and the Reconciling Ministries Network.
So come join us! We are a welcoming, diverse community of faith that is Rethinking Church.
